In 2013, Simgas, the BoP Innovation Centre, SNV and Mueller collaborated on developing the 10 liter Biogas Milk Chiller. This chiller provides off-grid biogas-powered milk cooling on-farm, allowing smallholder farmers without access to electricity to store, deliver and sell their milk. With this cooling solution, milk spoilage is eliminated and the income of small-scale dairy farmers is increased.
